262BH issues

Hello!

My name is Brady and we just bought a used keystone hideout 262BH.

I have a few issues so far. I can’t get my battery to charge while connected to shore power, also my a/c won’t come on in high cool.

Let me know if you guys have any helpful tips.

Thanks,
-Brady

Welcome Brady... take a sec and put together a signature so answers to your questions will have better context. UserCP at top left in black band on each page. Not sure if your trailer has a battery cut off switch and that should be on and there is also a large circuit breaker under a red piece of plastic with two dimples on top. You may have tripped this if the battery was put in wrong at some point. You might want to take a multimeter and disconnect the leads to the battery and check the DC voltage on the leads while connected to shore power; guess it won't do much go if you don't disconnect.
As far as the A/C, what shore power are you plugged into? You likely have a 30A trailer and are you connected to a 30A source via your camper's power cord?

Hey!
I checked the cutoff switch and those circuit breakers are good. No voltage comping to the battery from the camper while plugged in. I have a 30amp breaker just for my camper at home.

Take the leads off the battery when plugged into shore power and see if there is voltage across the pos & neg leads... If there is, battery bad. If not, start tracing back from battery to converter box.

Brady welcome. How old is that trailer? Keystone used black and white for battery cable colors at one time. Black is positive and white is negative. If you reverse those battery leads you will blow out the 2 "reverse polarity fuses" in the electric panel. That will prevent the battery from charging.
