New Camper Roof Issue

I have a friend who just bought a brand new camper about 1 year ago (still under warranty) but I will disclose it is not a Keystone product. He has an appointment to take it to dealer next week for them to look at it but he does not want them to push it off as not an issue just because they do not want to fix problem. So here it is, along the exterior and interior roof that are black lines that run from left side to right side of camper. They appear to be width and spacing of the roof trusses. Any thoughts or ideas?

Re: New Camper Roof Issue

It seems like I saw a thread about something like this awhile back. If you haven't, do a search. Hope your friend gets good service at his dealer.

Re: New Camper Roof Issue

Could just be the aluminum roof trusses creats moisture or condensation on the roof which would help mold development. Those black lines could just be black mold.

Re: New Camper Roof Issue

The lines are on the exterior roof and the interior ceiling

Re: New Camper Roof Issue

Mold needs the combination of food source, temperature and moisture. I would guess the the lines (as previously mentioned) are are along the frame. The frame is causing thermal bridging which is resulting in the correct temperature for mold to grow. If it was me I would clean it with 10% bleach...test before application. Good luck.

I too have the same problem with our travel trailer, I have black spots right were the roof trusses are. It goes from the rear to the front of roof. I had a rv shop here near me and well trusted, cleaned it twice with no results. So now I have a service manager at camping world putting in a claim, waiting to hear from them. My camper is a 2016 Outback 316RL
