Black Tank Dumping

In the category of a dumb question but I am going to ask any way. For the next four weekends in a row I am going out in my 24RKSWE boon docking. My question is do I need to dump the black tank after each trip. Again it is just Friday, Saturday and come home Sunday. Or can I do it less often. Dumping the tanks is a pain but I want to make sure I am doing what is best for the trailer.
Thank you

I would dump it on the way home each Sunday. I'd rather not have any waste sitting around for that long.

If you are over half full you will probably want to but if you are less than you can get 2 weeks before dumping. When we go for a weekend, a 3 day weekend is generally no issue for us but sometime if we stay the 4th then it is close. All depends on each family.

When we were seasonal, we would go home on Sunday and not dump until we arrived on Friday night. We were told by the campground and the RV center that that would be the best thing so we did it that way for 11 years without any issues.

I think the key is usage. How many are in the family? What are the "bathroom" habits?

If it is just a couple then you should be OK with waiting until the 2nd weekend - just be sure and dump plenty of water into the holding tank before letting it sit. If there are a lot of you then you might not be able to wait that long. If you intend to put it away for a week or longer in hot weather you might want to dump it to avoid any smells that might accummulate as the black tank "percolates"

it is just me so not a lot of usage as I spend most of the day out fishing. I think I will just monitor it and check the weather!

At my Long beach property, I had a 28ft trailer that mainly mom used. It was hooked up full time water, electric and gray valve open. I asked mom to dump (open the black valve before leaving). She never did and we show up 1 to 2 weeks later and it was way to smelly, sometimes real bad smelly. I just dump my RV black every time I come home and start clean and empty without any smell. If it is only part way full I add water to it before dumping. I have a 2 gal bottle used only for the black tank left in the storage area.

Thank you this is all very good information in which I can make a decision. The convenience of a toilet and shower is wonderful. The emptying is just a necessary pain!

If you were to pull down the Corplas on the under belly and look at how thin and unsupported the black and grey tanks were, you wouldn't travel with them more than 1/4 full.

I helped a friend repair a crack at the top edge of their black water tank after they travelled with it just 1/2 full once.

If the wife and I just "contributed" to the black tank for two days and I thought I had to dump it, I would use the black tank flush feature to make the process more effective. Normally, we dump after its 1/2 to 2/3 full to get a good evacuation.

If I didn't have a black tank flush, I would wait until the end of the second weekend. We just went six days before dumping and there was no smell emanating from the tank, which confirms previously expressed opinion that my poop doesn't stink. YMMV...
