Question Glacier Package

Does anyone know what is included in keystone's glacier package? I'm assuming it's the enclosed underbelly, tank heaters...etc. I called a local dealer and he started talking about the 26" LCD. Yeah...i know hwat your thinking..LOL

The "Polar Package" on my Cougar includes as you said ... enclosed under-belly, enclosed water lines and heated tanks. Heated tanks is a 2" duct from the furnace that dumps into the under-belly. If you use portable heaters .... no heat to tanks. My suggestion .... find another dealer or check Keystone's website for info.

On our '08 Cougar 5th, their "Polar Package" is as Hank described - not sure whether the dump valves are included in this package in '08 but I did note that they are listed as being "enclosed" in 2010. I would however, take the "Polar Package", as a clever marketing description by Keystone and stop there. If you find yourself camping in sub-zero (zero Centigrade) weather, it wouldn't take long for your water pipes and tanks to freeze up on you. The underbelly will do nothing to protect them and the amount of "heat" found in the enclosures wouldn't prevent freeze ups either. The Polar Package may, at best, slow down the freezing process in cold weather and may work if the temps at night dipped to slightly below freezing for a short time.

This is good advice and I agree.

If you are planning on spending extended amounts of time below freezing you'll need to make further modifacations to prevent freezing up. You will need more heat in the under belly than what is provided for example.

Dump valves can be difficult to protect and are very vurnerable. A heat source is needed for these whether it be a simple as a light bulb or heat tape. JMHO
