gray water connections

We just picked our 3450rl Apine. The first thing i seen was a separate gray water connections for the galley.Way to much trouble for me. I'm lazy. Gonna tie it in to the 3" drain in the front.I got 2.5" fall in 12'. A tee w/c.o. at the end. Maybe a chek valve before i tie in. What do ya'll think.

Why a check valve? This is a drain line and likely won't have enough pressure to open a check valve.

If you mean an extra dump valve, might not be a bad idea.

Otherwise, it sounds like a plan. I've thought about the same project, but it's not high on my list of things to do to the trailer initially.

Steve, you are exactly right. Not enough flow to open even a swing chek. Just got back from Lowes. Here i go. Thanks for the insight.

steamfitter,
Let us know how that works out for you. We just bought an new Alpine 3555RL and I was disappointed to learn of the 2 gray water tanks, too. Since they are on opposite sides of the axles it seemed to me that it would be nearly impossible to connect the drains and not create another problem, but if you can make it work, I'd like to hear about it.

Wow, so you have two drain connections? One gray/black and one gray? Can you tell if the fresh water tank is between the galley gray and the black/gray drain connection? The galley gray is a smaller tank that is about six inches above the coroplast. Can you just tap in downstream from the valve and route some pipe forward and T into the primary drain connection?

I have no idea on this situation. On the 3640, the galley tank is forward of the axles an there's only one drain connection. Have you taken a few of the screws off a section of coroplast and peeked inside the underbelly?

Ron
