Heater Vents

Hi everyone, first time owner here. Just wanted to ask a question. Can I cover the heater vents with a rug when not in use?

MY DW does... And we used to cover the one by the couch with a Beagle even when the heater was on.. Barney loved curling up on the vent in cold weather..

No problem. Just remember to move them prior to running the furnace. We cover them all the time to keep debris from falling through them.

I'll see if the DW has any photos of him, a great horned owl got him in our backyard early one morning nearly 5 years ago.. still miss the little thing.

Max our Golden just takes the covers and rolls up in them on the couch..

Awww, sorry to hear that. It must have been a big owl to take a beagle!

Didn't take him, but put a talon through the esophagus and one in the top of his neck, the esophagus couldn't be repaired so the Vet had to put him down.

For those who have never met a Great Horned Owl, they can be 25" tall and have a wingspan of 3 to 5 feet.

Sorry to hear that. We worry about our Chihuahua and large birds, especially hawks and owls, which are as prevalent as squirrels in GA. A hawk grabbed our neighbors puppy and flew off with it. My wife used to keep a super soaker water gun with her in the backyard. I wish i had a pic, but i wasnt stupid enough to take one. Now our English Pointer watches out for birds when they are hanging out in the yard.

We cover them in the summer to help the A/C. Cold air falls and goes down the vents, so does our Goldendoodles hair!
