Thumbs up Counter top extensions and other mods

It would be great to see pictures of any modifications you have done inside or out of your fiver. I'm looking for some good ideas.

Counter-top extension added

As far as mods, I've installed a Winegard Road Trip MiniMax Automatic Stationary Satellite Dome on the roof (well Camping World did that install). I don't have the pictures on that yet but will post some later. I just install a matching color counter-top extension next to the sink. The DW is very satisfied with the added counter. Check out the pics....

Where did you get the matching extension for your 327, looks great and also a great place for the waste basket. Happy Campin

I am a newbie here. I will receive my 2011 273FWRET Copper Canyon by mid April.... so hello.

I am trading in my 2002 Forest River Wildcat which I towed 68,000 miles and slept in 296 nights on 82 different trips. I made quite a few mods that you can browse on my website. Some of those mods are not required on newer 5th wheels (like inside 120v water heater switch) but you might get some ideas. I already have a couple of things in mind I want to do as soon as I get the Copper Canyon

Thanks,
Bobby

Does the refrigerator door get impeded by the shelf?

mobile42, We like the counter extension but I kept kicking my toes on the leg. Soooo I replaced the leg and hardware with folding shelf brackets and my toes thank me and we don't have to store it for travel.
Enjoy the extra counter space but watch your toes, Hank

I think this thread should have been under "Mods and Upgrades"

Ron, I emailed Keystone and I got a response back the next day. They stated that I had to contact my dealer and they would have to place the order for me. The process was painless once you make contact with the dealer. They require your VIN # and interior color (ours is Sedona Suede). Oh.., a deposit is also required. The whole setup was less than $80 including hardware and shipping.

Hankpage, that is awesome! I was hoping for that kind of hardware instead but the leg setup is what Keystone sent me. I just got to me careful with my size 12's. Where did you get those brackets? I just might change them also.

Handysam, I have no impediment at all with the refrigerator door. It opens all the way still.

I purchased the folding brackets from http://www.mcmaster.com/# McMasterCarr but they should be available from any good hardware supplier. The best part is not having to store the top when you travel. Hank

Great mod. I'm going to have to see how much room we have when the slide is out and look at doing this. For the size of the 303TG there isn't that much counter space.

Thanks for the info, we sure love our 327 and looking forward to putting even more options on this year. Thanks again Ron

Nice work. Did you buy the counter-top extension new from the dealer or locate it used? I still have yet to find a good RV Salvage place, they have to exist somewhere.

Maxcd, I had it ordered from Keystone RV Manufacturer (via my dealership). All the parts and counter-top extension were all new. Everything was less the $80 including shipping.

I agree about "not much counter space" We had a 2007 Keystone Sprinter TT (264BHS) with the similar kitchen floor plan and counter top design like your Laredo which had a counter extension (factory installed) with the folding brackets like "Hankpage" has on his. I wish Keystone would of sent me the folding brackets instead but for now, what I have will have to do. If it comes to a point that I end up kicking the leg when I walk by, a re-modification is in the making for sure. We love our new 327RES and it was the kitchen that sold us on the unit plus the large living room.
