Question Generator and A/C

I'm thinking of purchasing a Honda 3000w generator to power my TT when needed. The specs say it will power up a 13.5w RV air conditioner. My question is does any one know if it will work for a 15w air unit. The sales person at camping world said it would, but of course he was interested in making the sale. I would like to here from anyone who uses this unit, I believe its called the 3000Hi, it's the one with the lift up handle.
Thanks, Joe

Generator

I used a eu3000 the last two years had trouble if running air conditioner,tv etc. and my wife does quilting while we are stopped, sewing machine and iron. WellI had trouble blowing breaker on generator. The 13500 btu air conditioner takes 15amps ,inverter takes 5 to 12 amps , The 3000 only has 23.5Amps to work with. I sold Mine to a buddy that doesn't use as much electric as me and bought the honda EU6500 I know thats a little overkill but I have other uses for the bigger generator. The big plus of the 3000 is It is so quiet ,and it is extremely fuel effcint. Hope this helps Charlie..

Well, I ended up buying a DOMETIC 3000PLUS. All the bells & whistles of the Honda, only 72lbs, quiet AND with an electric start. It arrived today, added oil, gas and fired it up......one turn of the key & off she went. NOW here is the best part, only $855 delivered. AC,DC and inverter, very happy! If it will power my 15K air unit remains to be seen but it will power everything else.

dometic 3000

Let us know how you like it and how much stuff you can run. Can't find much information on tech specs , the only thing was one site said 71 to 74 decibals.normal talking is 60 to 64 deb. The honda eu 3000 is 48 to 56 dec. and The 6500 EU I just bought is 52 to 58 dec. Good Price Hope its worth it. Charlie

I've been playing with it in the yard. Not as quiet as the honda, but for about $1200.00 less, a few more decibals in noise is tolerable. It works great, starts easy, moves around on its wheels with no problem. The real test comes this summer, mean while it seems to be the best deal out there & DOMETIC does have a history in RV products. If it falls short I'll be the first to bit.h & let you know!

Boliy

We are extremely happy with the new Boliy we purchased, runs the 15k aircon and is pretty quiet, electric start. Sips gas with the auto rpm feature, not a salesman here, just happy with what we found.
