Slide issue/maintenance

I have 2017 keystone Campfire 31BH. My front slide out will not slide all of the way out or in without it losing power. If I let go of the switch for 30 seconds or so and push it again it starts moving again. Any one have an idea what I need to do to fix this? The trailer is level when I’m putting it in and out. The back slide for the bunk house works fine. Also what maintenance should I be doing to them? Thanks in advance for the help.

Welcome to the forum

What type of slide is it? Different slide mechanisms have different maintenance requirements.

Slide type

The bottom is covered and all I can see is cable’s near the top on each side.

Is there not a cable toward the bottom as well on each side. Top and bottom cables maybe 6" from the top/bottom edges of the slide?

Just looked at a video and you have cable slides with cables at the top and bottom.

Is there any binding with the slide or the motor sounding as if it's straining? Maybe something is caught causing it to overheat an automatically resetting breaker or maybe it's just a weak breaker. I am assuming the slide itself is in alignment and fully opens/closes.

Not a lot of mtce. on the slides other than keeping them adjusted. You can clean the cables and check them to make sure they don't fray or start rubbing on any of the little metal guides. Don't use anything on them that attracts dust/dirt.

Whenever I've seen that behavior, it's because my battery is no longer in circuit. For example the battery disconnect switch has been turned to disconnect, there is a bad ground, or the in-line circuit breakers have blown. The slide tries to move using only AC power, but stalls because there is no battery to draw on.
