Keystone quality concerns?

Bought a new 316RLS 4 weeks ago. Have had a chance to camp twice, but it has been with dealer two of those weeks. This time, furnace stopped working. Dealer is great, but it takes time for them to fit it in.

What are your quality concerns?

First, welcome to the forum. A good place to hang out and glean some info. Secondly, if your new home had the dishwasher spring a leak would you come down on the homebuilder or the plumber? No, same thing with your furnace. Keystone didn't build the furnace. I'm not trying to boost the quality of their workmanship, but it is about par for the course. These things take time to get ironed out of your RV. Hope things improve for you.

Welcome to the forum! quality is pretty much the same with all of the main manufacturers. Things will go wrong, it’s advisable to roll up your sleeves and see if you can figure out problems.
Ask a bunch of questions on here, post pictures and get a basic tool box.( if you don’t already have one)
If your not handy then maybe a family member or neighbor could help.

I would save the dealer for major repairs or once a year punch lists

A $5 part can keep a trailer at the dealer for a month before they can get to it and diagnose it.
the problems are not unique...if you do a search you will probably find 10 other people that went through the same thing.
You can use their experience to solve your problem
Good luck and happy camping!

What exactly failed on the furnace? The “furnace stopped working” really doesn’t help diagnose the issue. What are the symptoms?

Welcome to the forum

As others have stated, anything you can do by yourself would benefit both you and the dealer. What’s up with the furnace?

It seems that some shyster has snuck into Keystone's plant in Indiana and filmed the latest half-ton towable model being built for 2023:

Were those pictures taken after a tornado struck the project or was that the scrap pile they were getting their lumber from?

By looking at the "construction" it appears that scrap pile is the source of the material.

Debbradwachter, welcome to the forums and congrats on the purchase of your new camper. I don't know what a 316RLS is (a Cougar, a Springdale, a Montana, or something else), but one thing is certain, they all pretty much use the same parts, appliances, materials, and the same workmanship.

The OP hasn't logged on since posting this in May of 2021. I doubt you'll get a response.

UGG.... I missed that detail. I usually check the date of the first post, didn't do that his time. I'm getting sloppy, I think.

Nah, NTL's tagging on to this old thread about caught me snoozing. I went reading back through to see why he added a post to the thread and didn't remember the OP, but then again, I can't recall my last meal 1/2 the time either.

In using the 'search' function for something related to Keystone and Quality, it was the first thread to come up and attach the little 'funny' to the end.

In keeping with today's hot topic, I wonder what the builder would put in his signature line....
