2011 Passport 3220BH - Water heater panel question

Greetings....We are ready to take our first trip out in our new 2011 passport 3220bh - and I was playing around with the water heater -- everyting works well which i am glad -- but I want to know what the RED light is used for - it is between the elec on/off switch and the lp on/off switch in my control panel...the owners manual for the WH tells me nothing about this red light.

Thanks for any "light" that anyone can shed on my "light" question....haha

Aside from the gas and electric water heater switches that illuminate when on, there is also a small red light marked "fault" that lights up when the gas water heater is firing up then goes out once the gas element is on. It also lights up and stays lit if there is an issue with the burner or if the water heater isn't getting propane.

My red light only comes on if the burner doesn't light, it doesn't come on when I turn on the gas switch and the heater is doing its normal startup.

Thanks guys. But my on/off stitches do not light up at all when they are on or off -- they do not have lights in them. The only things I have is an oval shaped red light between the switches....and it hasn't lit up when the gas burner is lighting, or any other time. If it does light up..i want to know what the issue is...haha
Thanks!

You can check if the red light works by turning off the propane valves and then trying to run the water heater on propane mode. It sounds like we probably have the same unit. Mine only lights up if the burner goes out. It trys to relight it a couple of times and then gives up and lights up the light.

I posted on this same issue. If you wade through 4 million pages of warnings there is a part of the manual that states pretty much if there is a fault the light will come on which in a nutshell is what was already said. Sure wish they would print all the stuff that matters in a seperate manual but then again after just hearing about the Nutella thing I can't really blame them.
