I know some members only blow out their lines and drain the hot water tank to winterize and have had no issues. I for one do that and add the antifreeze. My point being is that if you take up an air compressor you could posible just empty the HW tank and blow out the lines and low point drains before you leave. Then just fill it back up when you get back.
I am no where near a season vet however it's just a thought. Hopefully some of the real vets will chime in.
