A/C blower no low speed

Our 2020 cougar 24sabwe A/C blower low speed has abandoned it's vall.

All modes:cool, heat, auto will blow high speed but not low speed.
A/C Compressor
comes on in cool & aito modes as neefed & high blower comes on & works till temp reached as it should. But low speed won't start

It did when A/C last used last September.

Ideas, thoughts?

This might have more to do with the thermostat control rather than the A/C itself. Our older rig has the Dometic A/C's along with the CCC2 thermostat control system and we have had issues over the years with either the thermostat itself or once with the control box below the actual A/C unit that developed corrosion on the circuit board. You might tell what A/C units you have as well as the thermostat that is installed, so others that have the same parts can help.

me parts can help.
Unfortunately, we have no manual or build list. Everything else is Dometic.

The thermostat is digital.

Thru inCommand controller (only control) , I've tried temp ranges of 2, 10, & 20 between rear zone (only have 1 zone) & set temp to try to get Low speed to come on. Set temp to 70 & 75 as base for tests w/zone @ 85 & 90. No luck.

Tried home/off mode to restart of each mode in Hi, then switch to Low.
Haven't tried reboot incommand, but will do that now.

I remember some other posts of furnaces not coming on @ low temps, put hand over thermo to get it above 40 (if my memory is working), or putting ice cubes around thermo to get it below 100 (memory?) to start A/C.

But A/C starts ok.

Blower just won't run in Low speed @ any mode or sequence that I've tried so far.

As you implied, it could be the controller board in the A/C shared part, but we're far from service yet still under warranty for 3 weeks or so.

Also haven't found a mobile tech out here in Salome, AZ.

Thank you for for the link.

It showed some info I've been chasing on the tank voltages which helped there but so far, nothing on the a/c.

I've measired the output from the a/c controller & that is good.
The resistance between the red wire (low speed) & the common @ the plug is open.

So need to trace from the plug to the motor & find the break or replace the motor.

I imagine there is a relay that switches from high to low speed. Are you sure it was working on low speed before? I’m not up on rv hvac systems but on residential air handlers you may have a 3 speed motor with only one speed actually being used and the other motor leads not used

Thanks jasin1,

I still don't have it fixed, but hope my son can check physical & measure it all today or tomorrow.

Control lines come from the iNcommand system. No switches involved.

There is an Air Distribution or control box, flush with the ceiling, (basically, it's all 120V relays etc.) All wiring to the compressor, & fan go thru this box. A 6 PIN plug connects the box to the fan & compressor on the roof.

Per the wireing diagram & physical verification on 1 end @ the control box:

A black wire goes the fan.

Yellow & red wires go to the fan. (brown & white to fan capacitors)

When high speed is selected, the black & yellow wire pair are hot.

When low speed is selected black & red wires are hot @ the plug.

Unplugged, there is continuity between black & yellow.

Unplugged, there is no continuity between the red and black wire. (or red to any other wire)

My assumption is that the red wire beyond the plug to the motor is open, or the motor winding is open.

The unit did operate @ both hi & low speed last summer. We used it a lot traveling our 28k miles & 23 states for 11 months.

The manual you gave me the link to has been a big help unless I missed something.

Our model number is B59516.711C00 if that helps.

Sounds like you are on the right path I can’t recall many hvac motors I’ve had in the past that lost just one speed without the whole motor being toast.
I think your problem lies in that control box..either a relay or a board or possibly a loose wire at a connection. I don’t think? It could be a communication problem with the iN·command or the floor plan update but others on here have more experience.

I commend you for tackling the problem and not just complaining about it and having a hissy fit over who’s responsible for the issue

Mot,

I believe your air conditioner may still be in warranty. The basic 1 year is "on Keystone's processing the claim" then the second year and on some air conditioners, the third year are the repair center's responsibility. Even if you don't want to take it to a RV dealer, you may have a Coleman or Dometic repair center/mobile technician that is authorized to repair the warranty items....

Maybe you're no longer in warranty, but I wanted to remind you the repair may be "a covered item"....
