Accu-Slide Manual Retraction

Hello and thanks for the assist. I have a 2016 Keystone Passport. It is starting to show its age at 5 years so I am trying to stay ahead of the game. I have an Accuu -Slide with the motor/gearbox just slightly left of dead center of the top of the slide-out. There is an a square panel dead center of the fascia (top trim) held in by two screws. Once that is removed there is partial visibility of the motor/gearbox but no actual access I want to make sure I have a procedure in place in the event I have a motor failure. I have the flexible drill extension and drill. I understand the procedure to manually retract the slide-out My question/concern is in regards to access.

The fascia is attached to particle board that runs the horizontal length of the slide-out. Based on how the end caps are attached, it appears that that a nail gun was used. To get to the motor I will have to pry off the fascia and (hopefully) unscrew the particle board. From there I should have access. As far as reinstalling the fascia I know the holes on the back end of the fascia will never line back up withe protruding nails. Mu plan would be to use some brass or other finished screws. Has anybody had any experience with this type of slide-out? As stated I am trying to get ahead of the game.

Had a couple of disasters on my last trip: High speed blow-up and bent awning arm due a froze strut. I managed to fix the awning on my own but it was an adventure and a learning curve. Thank you for your assistance!!

Hello,
In my last trailer the Bullet 26RBPR I had to access the cable system twice.
The first time I realized that the nails were not going back, so I nipped them off.
With help from Serena, I measured the width and length of the piece marked level and equally measured pilot hole marks on the trim. I drilled the pilots and re-attached the trim with screws and plastic caps.

I then measured the remaining pieces on that slide as well as the other slide opposite and drilled and installed screws and caps on all pieces and the decorative caps as well.
Even though I didn't have to work on the kitchen slide it matched nicely as I used a caramel coloured cap that somewhat matched.

Be careful how you make adjustments. I recommend finding a mobile RV tech and pay him to make any adjustments you need. If those two turn buckles collide when opening or closing, it will ruin a trip.

It happened to me. It pulled the pulley assembly plate right off the wall. That was fun. I figured out how to re-attach the plate and marked all the cables. I called the tech, he showed up, I explained everything that happened, he looked at it, adjusted it, drove it in and out a bunch of times while explaining it to me. I asked a lot of questions and now have a fair understanding of how they work. Was probably the best $200 I had spent on that trailer.
Good luck

I just finished adjusting my cables. On mine the entire fascia must be removed, it is mounted by screws with buttons covering the heads.

Thanks to everyone for the info! My main goal is to have a plan for a possible motor failure. Once I am home I can remount the fascia. I will double check for hidden screws but I am guessing its going to be the route that Northofu1 has suggested with the screw caps. Everybody stay safe!
