Basement Organization

I was tired of all the piled clutter that would always be the end result of any camping trip or Deer Lease weekend. I saw somewhere a guy who built hanging shelves out of wood. I wanted a solution , but lighter and adjustable.

Went to Lowes and got some 90 degree aluminum brackets, some 5/16 X 3/4 bolts and wingnuts. Got a couple thin Oak wood sheets and installed 2 hanging storage shelves. I used 12 brackets attached to the Aluminum rafters using sheet metal screws, spaced out over a depth of 5 ' on the Right side to facilitate the tables . On the left I used a 3 foot deep shelf using 8 brackets. Now 2 tables and 4 chairs and pads are up off the ground. brackets have 3 height adjustments just move them up or down and install bolt and wingnut. Also added some self adhesive hooks for a Couple of Fishing poles Made my basement alot neater and roomier.

Nice setup. I went a little different route, but I think my basement storage may be a bit deeper than yours. I just stand my tables and gravity loungers on edge held in place with straps anchored to the front wall. Everything else is in Rubbermaid totes which makes it very easy to find and keeps things organized.

Oh I have more crap, I just didn't have he camp chef, all of the camp chairs, the screen tent, or the pots and pans tote in there when I took the pic. It all does fit very nicely in there though. The large basement storage on the Alpine which allows me to stand the tables on end makes a world of difference. My last 5er wasn't nearly as neat and was much more difficult to keep organized when I started taking stuff out.

Brent I wish I had that much space I could use it as a hanger for the r/c airplanes. or live in it when i am in the dog house.

I have the room reserved for my mother in-law if she ever decides to go camping with us.

Had my daughter test it to make sure it was large enough.

The drop frames are nice for basement storage.

I was thinking of modify a garage adjustable ceiling racks to fit. Something like this:

Probably have to put a couple of boards attached the beams then attach the rack to the boards. I don't think you would luck enough to get the legs to line up. Would have to cut the middle support on the ends to get larger items in.

Here the link to them:
