Thanks, Missed your above post. Do have a question, looks like these Led's still are getting held on by the backing on the Leds, what is this extra channel doing? I for some reason thought these being OEM the leds would slide into a tube type channel so the could be replaced easily?? Did you get the white with blue tint? I had thought that the OEM led strips somehow slid into the channel attached to unit for the awning?

Any information would be appreciated

Glazing tape

I used glazing tape can be found at window shops(double side foam very stickey has to be to hold windows in place and pretty cheap price. They will probably give it to you, only 20 feet)

I think I'm going this route as well. Should you happen to know the part number or "official" part name for the two trim pieces?

I've been looking at adding LED's to our trailer also & this might be a silly question but why not just buy an entire kit like this, http://www.ebay.com/itm/281055672866...84.m1439.l2649

Someone else posted similar before, why not buy this kit http://www.ebay.com/itm/RV-16-WHITE-...96746b&vxp=mtr

They also have different lengths and colors of the both the LED and the channel.

Wowchad, that's one of the kits I purchased in the past. It says that it's "waterproof", but they didn't last 2 months before about a quarter of the lights went out and the rubber turned milky white. The rating on the description says IP65, which is not the best choice for outdoor use. The IP68 rated strip, in my opinion, is a much better choice.

LED awning light strip "remod"

The kits are IR as well and not RF. I prefer to buy what individual parts and get what I want. The one kit above was over $50, you can get better for less.

Ok good to know, thanks. I'll be sure to look for IP68 rated LED's for outdoor usage

To PARAPTOR questions.

The kit had 4 four foot channels that had there own sticky mounting to mount to the trailer. Then the Leds are sealed in a silicon tube that mounts in the channel. The leds also have 3m on them if you wanted to have them stick in the channel. The channel holds the leds super tight so I did not use there sticky backing.
I went with the white light but it does have a bit of a blue tint to it. Not as much as what is in the picture though.
These could of been mounted in the awning channel if you wanted to I suppose. I like mounting them a bit under the closed awning so I can light then up when the awning is retracted.
