Hello from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula
We just put down our deposit on a 2021 3660rl. We pick it up on October 4th. and head to Vegas for 6.5 months of “winter getaway” on the 10th of October.
I’m retired Navy and my wife was a radio DJ for 30 years, after 16 years we still are newlyweds!

Welcome to the forum and thanks for your service!
That’s a pretty tight window to leave with a new trailer….make sure you have the dealer turn on everything in the trailer during your pdi
Spend the day at the dealer and try EVERYTHING to make sure it works before you sign the papers…furnace,tv,water pump, have them fill the fresh water tank all the way…try the dump valves etc….you may even want to take it directly to a local campground for one night for a “shakedown cruise”
Vegas is a long way from home and if you have any problems it could prove difficult to get service…( unless your dealer is a nationwide chain)
I’d treat it like the Navy does with a new ship and Sea Trials
Do you have a 50 amp receptacle at your house?…after you bring it home I’d set it up in the driveway and again try everything out
2021 models have had some quality control issues….if you catch it during pdi ..(before you sign) you stand a much better chance getting issues resolved quickly….after that it’s the back of the line like everyone else
Get yourself a true ems /surge protector. And a tpms system for the trailer
Congratulations on the new trailer

What they^^^^said, and triple what Jasin said. You need to work that RV hard during the PDI, drive the long, long way home, and camp hard a couple of nights to make SURE everything works.
I might further add that you are more anxious to buy the RV than they are to sell the RV. Do NOT sign the papers before the PDI is 100% and the repairs are 100%. There will be a sharp learning curve in this new phase of your life. RV-wise not all will be pleasant if proper preparation isn't made.
Any chance, before you leave, you could stop by the Lockview Restaurant for us and FedEx about four beef pasties to us in Florida?

Thank you. This will be our 7th winter in Vegas and its 5,xxx mile round trip.
We have a 30 amp actual campground electrical box at home as well as water and connection to our home septic system! . We will be camping in our driveway as we are loading it up.
We for sure will check everything out well and have the dealership give me a complete walk around explaining how it works.
Our last 5th was a 2016 Cougar 29RES.
This Arcadia has many new improved changes.
It has a 107 gallon fresh water tank under the front Cali King bed. We realize it will add weight to the hitch area but relieve the weight that is normally in the rear of the 5th. While on the road we will only put enough water in it so we can use the toilet while on the road, knowing that water weighs 8 pounds 6 oz.
no use carrying an extra 822 pounds +.
We are really excited on getting our new 5th and the insurance company NGIC is really working great in covering this horrible loss, I have read where many slam NGIC insurance. They have been exceptional in their fast responses in handling of this claim. They already issued a check for items lost in fire.
I understand about “China bomb” tires, we never haul over 68 mph and I manually check tire pressure every morning and about every 2 hours and at fuel stops. It gives me time to walk around and check everything and also stretch, walk a bit, bend and reach.
These new tires are HiSpec on 16 inch rims.
They are G rated.
I put 18,000 miles on my Trailer King tires with 0 issues, probably lucky, but I sold the 4 of them for $135.00 after all those miles.
Thank you for the welcome and useful ideas and what to look for.
I’m glad to be on this forum.

We love the Lock View pasties and their fish dinners.
Lol… pasties are on the way.
This will be our 3rd RV making this our second 5th wheel.
We are looking forward to our 7th winter at Nellis AFB Fam Camp and the trip out there.

Welcome to the forums. Hope you enjoy your new camper. We are from central Indiana. Currently, we are in your "neck of the wood", camped at Baraga State park for the week. Leaving Sunday morning for Wilderness State Park by Mackinaw City all next week.

The Soo is a marvelous place during the summer and Fall, but as you know…. The winters can be harsh especially when one is not into winter activities.
If you were from the Soo then you have heard my wife on the radio.
Good luck with your 30rl !
Safe travels.

Not sure I would remember, been in Alabama now for over 25 years. Last time I spent time in the UP was near fiber/Rudyard area fit hunting and Salt Point before we sold my grandfather’s cabin.
I hope you enjoy your Arcadia and time in the warmer weather.
