Bedroom Fantastic Fan Doesn't Turn Off

Strange happened the other day involving the fantastic in the bedroom; wondering if anyone else experienced this.
After winterizing the trailer, putting cover on and packing it up for the winter I went in to empty the dehumidifier. Upon entering I heard a strange sound coming for the bedroom. The sound was the fan running. I immediately went to the switch to turn it off thinking the wife had turned it on for some reason but the variable fan speed switch was already off. I played around with the switch - turning it on and off several times but each time I switched it off the fan continued to run. I only managed to turn it off by closing the hood and activating the kill switch.

Anyone else experience this? I assume it is just a faulty pot switch.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.
