Atwood water heater

Ok so really messed up and forgot to drain water heater so it froze and split 💩 Ordered new one replacement went easy now I have hot water for about 10seconds them it slowly stops flowing😡😡 New tank didn't come with the fittings to go to the water lines so I had to remove them from the old tank did I get them wrong is there a check valve on one

Do you have the bypass valve turned off?

I think that is a bad question. Do you mean the water stops flowing or the hot water turns cold?

With bypass off water flows from hot and cold both but. Is cold out both turn bypass on water is hot but stops running after 10 or 20 seconds

Welcome to the forum

Cold supply is at the bottom of the tank, hot water out is at the top of the tank. If there is only one valve at the cold supply, then yes there should be a check valve on the top fitting. You may have it installed backwards.

Check the check valve. Sounds like you either have it backwards or on the wrong inlet.
