Glad I installed slide toppers!

I did something similar using 2" PVC pipe and fittings and a heat gun to smooch the contraption together. Worked ok until the end 90 degree shot off and ended up half way under my slide topper. And yes, even if you do have a topper things have a way of ending up under the topper - like bugs, and the stray leaf or pine needle and, in my case, a right angle PVC fitting. Otherwise a good idea and useful.
