Assumig you are Middle River Maryland...we were just there this spring. Nice country. We hung out in "The Northern Neck" at Belle Isle State Park. Spent a fair amount of time around Easton on the eastern shore. Found my 6th great grandfathers grave, Thomas Bozman, near Easton in Bozman.
Makes me want to re-read Chesapeak by Michener.

Surprising to me the area around the Chesapeake doesnt look that much different than the coastal bays of southeast Texas. Lots of marsh with bayous, creeks, and rivers. We are bout 12 miles north of Trinity Bay, a part of the Galveston Bay complex. I've lived about this close to the bay all my life.
Just finished working on both boats. The GoDevil mud boat sits outside so it takes a beating. I replaced all the fuel hose, separator element, fuel filter, oil & filter and spark plugs. Ready to go. The bay boat got an oil & filter change, plugs, and new water pump kit.
There were some cool old style boats in the harbor at Oxford. Good view from Docs Sunset Grille.

Yeah Oxford and Saint Michaels are really nice towns..we stay overnite in the boat at both places..Rock Hall is another nice town..
We like quiet little seaside towns…will have to check out the Texas Coast at some point..my Father in law was a machinist for Bethlehem Steel but he was also a small time commercial crabber.
Had his boat built on the eastern shore back in the 70s not far from Oxford.. 42’ baybuilt with if I remember a 453 Detroit in it.

Funny I originally mentioned Oxford and SM in my prior post since you were in Easton.. but shortened it

We will be back next spring. We have reservations for the spring Richmond NASCAR race. I want to get to the the Northern Neck Historical Society in Montross VA and research my Bruce Family. Also dig a little deeper on the Bozmans and just hang out.
One big difference between the Chesapeake and Galveston Bay is the oil industry. You can see the the refineries from quite a distance away. Sabine Lake is about the same. I usually fish the Louisiana shoreline in the marsh as opposed to fishing in the shadow of a refinery or LNG plant.
