Veteran's Day
I'd like to take a moment to thank all those members and their spouse who have served in the military to keep our nation safe and secure. In times like these, it's easy to get wrapped up in our own issues and forget just how much others have given for us to have the freedom to do what we enjoy.
Thank you, to each of our veterans. We can't thank you enough for all you've done.

We just finished a parade with old cars and motorcycles circling the veterans home. The staff had all the old veterans in wheelchairs and walkers waving at is . Normally there is a big car show with some of the nicest old cars in the country. Donations along with food and raffles helps support the veterans home.

I didn’t serve in the military so I greatly appreciate those that have.
I have a great love of military history that I passed on to my son. I think I’ve read almost every book written about ww2. It sure seemed like people were built from a better mold back then.
I try and take the time to ask customers about there experiences when I’m in a home and see pictures for showin there time in the service
My grandfather was a ww2 veteran and nothing made me prouder then listening to my 6 year old son talking to his grandfather about the war and being able to hold a conversation. I’ve always learned the most from people who are much older then me.
And when you take the time to ask someone who has lived a lot longer then you have to tell you about what life was like back then it can be fascinating.
Take the time to listen. ........sorry if I got off topic

We could learn a lot from the greatest generation today. My family also has many veterans and two of my sons are active duty as we speak.
You're a history buff, check out the documentary, "Red, White, Black and Blue". The subject of the film was my uncle, Bill Jones. He enlisted the day after Pearl Harbor and stayed for 30 years, retiring as a Major. He was in the Battle of Attu, and seven other campaigns. Not many know about that. I was stationed briefly on the island of Adak, Alaska, about 300 miles from where my uncle fought and was wounded. Brutal weather and terrain!

I didn't/couldn't (4F) serve but want to thank ALL who are & have protected our freedom.
However my FIL served in the Navy & had our son promise him that if he didn't finish college that he'd join the Navy, he however chose the Air Force instead & after 21 years retired April 2019, I think his late granddad would be as proud as we are of him.
Thanks to everyone in all branches!!!!

I’m not the military type, vol fire dept instead. Dad was, Army, taught nuclear electronics at Sandia Natl Labs to generals and the such who were required by top brass to learn it. 4 or 6 years, I don’t recall exactly. My step-daughter and her husband both Army, Gulf war vets. Without our vets across this nation, it wouldn’t be the nation we love.
