Recliner

Looking to replace my chairs. Anyone have one or two of these? What do you think of them? Price looks good and they're light weight.

No experience with that particular recliner, but the fact that it is Thomas Payne should tell you alot.........as in.....That would be a big NO for me!

There are literally hundreds and hundreds....probably thousands of complaints about T.P. brand sofas that are peeling beyond belief, across the RV forums. I've seen more of that than almost any other single issue with the exception of the Heating/A.C. problems and Norcold refrigerator problems. We replaced all of the T.P. stuff in our camper and the recliners we chose were the Barcalounger brand....Marjon model. Expensive? Yes. High Quality? Yes This is of course my opinion and your decision will be based on your own personal needs/wants.

For reference, here is a pic of the two recliners with ottomans that we bought....

We bought these recliners for our home and love them. The backs fit into the bottom half frame and these could easily go through a camper door. I have been looking at campers for a long time and TP furniture seems to shed its outer skin (pleather) regularly and if you look at camper sales with a few year old campers, many if not most of the TP furniture is shedding and really poor shape.

Thomas Payne does not have a good reputation in the RV world as a whole. Their pleather seems to fail in a short time.

Wow...glad I asked. I guess this is an example of "you get what you pay for."
I don't like the big over stuffed furniture much. The 2 chairs we have in the trailer rock and swivel, but don't recline. They are also bulky and cumbersome to move around.
At home I have an Ekorness stressless recliner made in Norway. They are very expensive...too much for me at this time! Mine is 21 years old and cost 3 times as much these days. I love it so much, but it's getting old and shows it.
I'll keep looking. The way things look with the pandemic, we may be staying put for awhile longer?

What!! Say it ain't so! I will say this; TP as a "top notch" piece of furniture is misleading. Our 14 had TP "pleather" and it was horrific. The new trailer has TP again but after multiple conversations with those "supposedly in the know" the fabric etc. has been changed. I can say, as it was something I was concerned about, that the fabric/texture truly has changed. Of course the trailer is new and I may have new furniture this time next year...but, it doesn't exhibit the same qualities of the other "pleather" we had previously.
