Washer/dryer

I just purchased a used 2015 Raptor 405ts. It has washer and dryer hookup in the closet.

My question is, how does the dryer vent? Or is this for just to use one of those washer/dryer combos?

We have cut a hole in the side to vent the dryer outside. Vent comes with a flap and the cover can be chrome. I would NOT get a non vented dryer as it takes forever and adds waste water to the holding tank.

Thanks for the reply. Not sure how I feel about cutting into my camper. Where did you vent it out at?

We use the sidewall. Member Chunker just ordered a new a Raptor and he said his dealer is exploring other options. You may want to look him up.

Mine is a 356 and the hookups are in the garage. If I get one it won't be a combo or vented. I researched stackable and there are apartment sized ones at better price than the Splendid. 120v also. GFs Crusader has hookups in the front closet and there is a vent on the right side. We don't use a W/D in that trailer. Vent is white like the trailer side so not too noticeable.

I just looked at a 405TS for sale on line and I'll offer a suggestion. Cutting into that sidewall would look terrible so see if you can go straight down from the W/D compartment and have the vent exit in the overhang beside the king pin. Not sure what's in that right front compartment but there might be room. I'd run sections of 3-4" PVC or ABS and minimize the number of joints. Chuckster57 might know what's in that area that would get in the way.

We are picking up a new 5th wheel in a week or 2. It will have a stackable w/d installed and vented. I wouldn't have a clothes dryer of any kind running unvented in an RV.

Talked to the SM and they do it all the time. The w/d compartment has a sticker located where the hole should be drilled - it is a standard size. The vent is similar to a home vent and goes thru the wall. It is sealed both sides with a vent on the outside. I have 2 friends with vented dryers out the side, plus one friend beside me and another traveler on the other side of us that have them. They look perfectly fine to me - just like a dryer vent. The other "doo dads" sticking off the sides look worse to me than the vent, which looks much like a stove vent. I'm good with it and don't really see a down side vs unvented.

The vents on the side of the RV are not too noticeable. You probably see them often and don't notice. I would go through the side before I went poking around in the unknowns of somewhere else.
I'm likely to order washer and dryer from Home Depot tomorrow. Magic Chef that are both about 22" deep. 2.0 cu ft washer and 3.5 dryer. Less than half the dollars of Splendide. 5 year warranty for $75 each. I wouldn't recommend Pinnacle. Been there.

As long as the dryer is 110VAC and not the usual 220V you’ll be good.

Pinnacle service is useless. Their washer costs more and ours worked just a few months. I've spent more time trying to get it fixed under warranty than the time it actually worked.

Splendide washers do make a ventless model. We owned 3 in the last 8 years. They lasted from a year to 3 years. Their service department is very easy to communicate with and they solved our issues quickly. We thought a washer should last longer so we bought the pinnacle. Ventless doesn't dry well either.

We will try another brand in the future. Certainly never will own another pinnacle.

be sure they are both 120 volts. You need a high-end MH to get 240 volts.

I’m not aware of any current MH that has 240V service. Can you tell me which one? Just curious.
