Power tongue jack problem
Just brought home my new Cougar 22RBS. Once at home I extended the power tongue jack. I’m thinking I pushed it to the limits when I extended it. When I went to retract it nothing happened. Still had power as the light worked. I manually retracted the jack and extended it again without an issue but when I went to retract it, same thing, nothing happened. I can only retract it manually.
Since they washed it for delivery when I got home I had a couple of locks freeze up. The weather was in the teens. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Wait a couple of days, let it dry out and try again.

Get it replaced would be what I would want. I have read where people had problems when water ran into it from the cover over the hand crank. I put black silicon over mine and also keep it cover with a tongue jack cover. With all the rain, snow and temp changes; along with how long it set out on the lot it is a possible that water has gotten into it.

The switch on your jack is a "reversing polarity switch" which means that when you push the switch in one direction it applies +DC power to the jack motor and when you push the switch in the opposite direction it applies -DC power to the jack motor. Apparently either the switch is defective, the "retract" connector came loose or when they washed it they got it wet and it's shorted out. It may work when it dries out, it may not.
As for the locks, try some "lock deicer" to spray into the key slot. That should thaw and displace any water in the locks. (hopefully).....
It's not a good idea to wash any vehicle when it's below freezing. What you're experiencing is just a sample of some of the things that can go wrong. I've seen slide seals ripped off the slide, doors jerked so hard to open them that they literally broke into pieces and windows that won't open, are forced to open and shatter when they flex. That's just a few of the problems with frozen, wet RV's.

^^^^washing in below freezing temps is a bad, bad idea. The water permeates anything/everything then freezes/expands...no good end. If it can't completely dry before encountering sub freezing temps just don't do it IMO.
Since they did it at a dealership (apparently) I would have insisted that it be moved inside to dry completely....which they won't do. So many things to be damaged.

I'd say call your service tech immediately and make an appointment....tow that bad boy back to the Stealership for replacement! No band- aid repairs for a new TT.

Had something similar happen to us a couple of days after we got our new trailer. I think the switches on the tongue jacks are not a brilliant quality. Anyway, I just kept switching it and eventually it worked. As we used the trailer more, we had less problems with the switch.
