Convert U shaped dinette to couch in Passport 2400bh

We have decided to convert our dinette slide to some kind of jack knife couch. We never use it except to sit in to watch tv so it is not the most comfortable for that. Anyone done this before and if so any advice? I was camping in the sprint with someone who had actually done this but I did not go see how he accomplished it. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you do it? I'm curious because we're not a fan of ours either and I think this is a fantastic idea!

D'Oh! As a result of your post, it just dawned on me that we can use our dinette as a couch just by removing the table. I'm not so interested in using it as a bad for guests, but for entertaining!!!

Depending on how big your dinette is, you could have an issue finding a couch the correct size to fill the hole. I'd measure your possible width and start looking at whats available before tearing yours out.

La-Z-Boy loveseats are typically 65-66" and I just found one on facebook for a VERY reasonable price.

Ok, I may have revised it a bit but kept the original framing in place. I actually removed the tabletop which was useless anyway, ran 1/2 x 4 inch slats across the hole where the table top is suppose to sit, then added a 1 inch piece of plywood over top of that from 1 side to the other. I had to add a few slats on top of the seats,to keep it level. Then added very over sized large pillows in the back and sides. Behind those I bought over sized outdoor lounger cushions. Works very well as a sofa so far.

FlyingAroundRV that's exactly what we did. Didn't use the table anyway.

The first thing we looked for when we upgraded from a pop-up was a unit with a couch. There's nothing worse than spending a rainy day or two on a camper dining room table.

This is what we did in our old Coachmen. Only had the u shaped dinette but wanted more comfortable sitting. Went with the reclining sofa because we were able to disassemble it to get everything through the door
