Algae in low point drains

Visited camper in storage today to take pictures of the failed steps.

I saw the low point drain and caps and they looked a little darker than expected.

I removed the caps and there is a small amount of algae in the cap and the low point drain lines.

I drained the lines (fresh water tank has been empty for a while) and replaced the caps, figuring I'd rather have some algae instead of stink bugs in the lines.

I doubt algae is in the rest of the lines, but I will check on my next visit in a week or two.

Any recommendations?

Thanks

If you are concerned with algae in the lines and/or tank, I'd sanitize the tank by adding bleach, let sit for several hours, and pump some of this water through the lines. Drain the tank and refill with fresh water, flush out the lines and repeat this until the bleach taste has disappeared.

You can always wipe off the green stuff at the low point drain cap with a water and bleach solution.

Don't over-think problems. When you get the rig out for use, just sanitize the fresh water system and get on the road. Been doing that for 40 years and all is fine.
