Tongue Jack Issues

I have a 26' Keystone Cougar and tongue jack gave out on me. I bought one at Walmart and it would not go through the hole on the tongue. My question is what is the minumum weight jack I can use. Will a 1000lb jack do the trick. I believe the unit weighs 3800lbs, but I am not sure about tongue weight.
Thanks

A 1k manual jack will do it, a 3500 lb powered tongue jack will do it better
