Changing a power outlet?

Is there anything unusual about the electrical receptacles in my 2019 Cougar 29BHS? One of our first world problems is that there is a USB outlet on my side of the bed but not my wife's. There is a standard 120V outlet on her side but God forbid that she has to use the iPhone USB adapter that plugs into those. I figure it might be nice to have some USB chargers for a couple other outlets as well. Can I buy a standard household outlet with the USB built in and just swap it out? Like this one? I'll leave the GFCI outlets alone.

The outlet is most likely a self contained speed box. You can change them out but you need to install a box to put the outlet in. Easy enough to do if you're handy.

This is probably what you have now.

As long as you have the wall depth to install a conventional outlet and old work box, it will work well. The problem comes when you have 2" walls and the only available old work boxes are 3" deep.... BTDT.... If you can find the box that's the correct depth for the location you want to install an outlet, it's easy to do....

Our TT came with USB and 120VAC receptacles on just one side of the bed.

My DW insisted on a 120 VAC/USB combination receptacle like this Leviton for her side.

Because of where she wanted it, I ended up using a surface mount box. These combination receptacles are deep, so don't buy the low profile box.

The above will only work when you have shore power or a generator running. There are 12v USB outlets, they have a very small parasitic current draw at all times.

On my rig the 12 v light switch was nearby, they normally run pos and negative wires together. It was very is to install a 12v usb receptical and pull the 12 v power down to it.
