Alpine front cap question, fading still?

We are looking at a new 2018 Alpine 3500RL that a dealer near us(about an hour away) has marked down quite a bit. It is a 2018 but it really looks like a 2017 carryover with the black cap color and large Alpine sticker on the front. Has anyone had the fading issues with this style cap still or was that issue resolved in the past? The dealer has two other stores and four more of this model in the newer lighter colors with the subdued Alpine logo. Just wondering if they are still having problems maybe we should travel a little further and look at the newer colors? It might be nervousness as we get closer to pulling the trigger, that given the amount of money we are about to spend on our first brand new trailer I'm hoping not to run into a problem with cap fade.
Thanks
Chris

Take a look at the Actual V.I.N. number....it is a 17 digit Alpha/Numeric numbering system. Then, start at the last number and count backwards to the 8th digit. That will be the code for the model year.

2011=B
2012=C
2013=D
2014=E
2015=F
2016=G
2017=H

Not many Alpine owners out there?
I haven't received an answer if the dark front caps are still prone to fading.
Thanks
Chris

We have had a 2017 Alpine 3401RS for a year that looks as good as new.
