Question on using furnace in transit

I am planning a winter getaway from minnesota in February going to Texas. Anyone had experience running the furnace while towing rig. Pros and cons?

Only thing I would advise is to be sure your propane is off while at a fueling station, or in a tunnel or any marked prohibited area.

I wouldn't do it. First thought is as you roll down the road, the wind pasing over the furnace vent may cause the flame to go out and try to relight continuously, and your furnace may not be in working order when you arrive.

I've never run mine while in transit. It just seems too much trouble to worry about it going out, running while fueling up etc. when I'm not sure of the benefit. The main thing I would worry about are the water lines under the trailer but with 60mph winds blowing under there the heated underbelly would be useless - I think. When traveling I already have my fridge on propane and have to worry about it so don't really want to mess with another burning flame. We usually limit our driving time to about 6 hours so we haven't had any issues (crossing fingers).

I have done for years without a problem. I set the temp down to about 60 degrees, this keeps the unit from getting so cold that it takes for ever to heat up to temp.
