low pressure quick disconnect.

I fired up the aussie rv grill that came with our camper and it worked surprisingly well. I've found a 10ft quick disconnect hose which would let me move the grill to a table under the awning by adding it to the hose quick disconnect which is already at the back of the camper. My question is, is there any downside to doing this? Is there a point where there is to much hose and it won't work as well? I'd like to have the ability of using the grill on the bracket at the back of the camper and also be able to use it under the awning. Thanks for any input.

I use the similar thing ,running a 25 ft to run it to many different areas. Looked it up in my gas code book and needed to increase hose size by one (ie 3/8 to 1/2 in ) for that amount on run,but 10 ft should make no difference .

I have a modified Weber Q120 and a Campfire-in-a-Can and have used both with hose lenths exceeding 20' with no issues. I didn't go to a bigger hose as I never run either of them at "wide open", so, a slight drop in volume delivered only means that instead of 1/2 throttle, I use 5/8 or 3/4 throttle on controls to get the same "burn".

I routinely use a 12' hose for the grill and the Campfire-in-a-Can as I'm one of those that don't like cooking under the awning and the 12' lets me move the grill out from under the awning and away from any open windows. You won't have any problems with a 10' hose.

X2.

I have an olympian BBQ and the real campfire in a can. Often run either off of 20' of the std size hoze and they work fine. I have a 20' section of larger diameter hose, and with the campfire in a can at 60K+BTU I do see a bigger flame at full flow, but still way more than adequate and plenty decent flame with smaller hose. As you, I just open the valve a touch more with the longer hose length. No issue at all with a normal BBQ. The larger diameter hose is much less flexible, so more of a pain to handle.
