What's Up With Yellowstone?

Occasionally, I get on line and check availabilities for Grand Teton and Yellowstone, as they are my favorite places. Usually both parks are packed up until closing day, but the reservation site for Yellowstone shows many available RV sites at Fishing Bridge for the upcoming holiday weekend. I just thought that to be a little strange. I would love to go, but haven't been in a couple of years, mainly because with the gas prices being what they are, I can do several long weekends in some nice Arkansas State Parks and not spend $1000 just on gas for a round trip to Jackson Hole.

We were forced out during the big fire in 88. We could see flames from the Old faithful Lodge and when we went to Yellowstone Lake they made us turn around and leave. Don't know why they even let us go that way in the first place. Was there the year before , during and the year after. Been there several times since.

And that is why September has always been my favorite month to visit Tetons an Yellowstone. Interesting enough, Colter Bay RV Park in GT has usually always been full right up to the last day.
