New to Forum and owning a trailer

Hi,

I have a 2018 Keystone Hideout 177LHS and I pull it with my 2018 Nissan Titan SL Midnight Ed. 4x4. I live in Southern California and my wife and I inherited our trailer from a relative that passed away.

My wife and I are avid campers and have always tent camped. We are excited to take our trailer out in the next few weeks. I will happily take any advice or pointers anyone wants to give.

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum. My first concern would be what hitch are you using? Single axle trailers are more prone to sway so a good hitch and sway control will be important. Second is tires. What brand tires and how old are they? You can find the tire age by looking for an oval with four numbers. The first two numbers are the week and the second two the year. So lets say the oval contains 5219 that would be week 52 in 2019. Trailer tires age out they don't wear out. Typically anything over 5 years is asking for a blowout. Some folks replace them at year 3 and others on day one if the brand is one of the known problem brands.

Ask away on any questions there's lot's of great members here willing to help!

Hello and welcome!

Congrats on your acquisition of the Hideout!

As mentioned by Marshall, invest in a good weight distributing hitch with sway control.

Enjoy your travels and stay safe!
