Discount Fuel

With the significant increase in fuel prices I recently signed up for the Open Roads fuel card and want to share my initial findings. There are lots of YouTube videos describing the program but basically you are joining a volume discount fuel program. There is no charge to join, they make money on a portion of the savings you get. You do have to link it to a checking account so be sure to keep that in mind. I live in Florida and there are lots of places where they have relationships with vendors. I stopped at a Travel Authority where the listed price was $5.69/gallon for diesel. The open roads app said the discount would out the price at $4.56/gallon. I filled up and then checked the app for the savings and sure enough, it worked. I saved more than $25 in fuel at that 1 stop. I realize that some normal size gas stations have cheaper diesel but I don’t fit very well and prefer truck stops when we travel(or Buc-ees). The app allows you to do some searching along your way to find the best prices.

In these days of high prices it is certainly something that could help you.
