Furnace and A/C on at the same time?

We have a 2014 Cougar High Country 321, and when I turn on the furnace, the a/c comes on as well blowing air, not warm or cold. Is this normal? The heat comes from the floor, and the returns seem all throughout the roof. With the a/c fan and the furnace fan going at the same time seems odd and it's pretty noisy.
