According to the NHTSA, the yellow sticker is a recommendation from the manufacturer. How many vehicles do not have the listed tire size? What is an owner supposed to do then? The actual tire and axle ratings combined with the GVWR of the truck is what matters. Don't exceed any single number of those three.

No offense but your a little late to the "yellow tire sticker bashing". This has been argued ad nauseum here and on other forums. Yes, it's a Federal Mandate to make the mfg display the info. I guess WHAT you do with it is your decision. Sorta like those labels on a hair dryer warning you to have enough common sense not to use it while standing in the shower. If you choose to ignore then well.....
