Heading west on I-80 with our traveling companions we stopped at the Western Hills CG which we saw from the highway. It was supposed to be just an overnighter. After seeing the vastness of the Seminoe SP we stayed 5 days to explore it and the CG out on one of the lakes.

If you pull-up the Western Hills CG web page and look at their photo album, you’ll see these same two pictures of our site and the CG office. Our friends still had their Pride 5th wheel then. A few months later it would be destroyed by an electrical fire and replaced with a Montana.

Our friends tow vehicle was 4WD which came in handy because all of the SP roads were dirt. One of our major goals was to find wild horses. That took three days but was well worth it when we found them and they were in great physical condition. We searched everywhere for Mule deer and found them completely by accident at a field out behind a local bank where we stopped to use the ATM. Prong horns were everywhere. This big bull was solitary.

The SP CG was closed because the water levels in all of their lakes were depleted down to almost nothingness.

I've done some great fishing at Seminoe both as a kid and 2 years ago. It's shame the water level has been depleted...nice pix.
