Shoe storage

What’s everyone doing with their shoes?

Family of 5 so if we have flip flops and maybe tennis shoes for hiking we can have up to 10 pairs. We have a strict no shoes in the camper rule to keep out dirt and whatnot.
I was thinking of one of those door hanger shoe holder and just hang it on the wall as you walk in but that’s kinda hoky. Wondering if someone has any better idea.

How about a storage bin with a lid just outside of the camper door. You could even make cardboard dividers so that each pair could have its own pigeon hole.

Out of site, and weatherproof, and doesn't take up interior space. Sound good to me.

Good Luck

I invested in a set of these a couple months ago because they were inexpensive and I liked the simple design. I installed one on the carpeted riser to my "bedtable" so I could stop tripping over my slippers in the dark on the limited strip of floor remaining around the bed. I kept the other two in reserve for our next trip so we can have an informed discussion about where best to locate them.

For us, to the left of the entry door was a full height cabinet door into the kitchen cabinets. I removed that door, had a cabinet maker make me a new door to match the existing doors that only was for the top shelf of this cabinet, re-used the original hinges and handle, and hung the new door. We ended up with an open space below for shoes with the upper shelf of the cabinet being for miscellaneous stuff behind the new door. I added a rug cut to the right size in the shoe storage area that is easy to remove and shake out, and added plastic crib rail guards to the edge of the face frame that is exposed so shoes don’t ruin it. Has worked great for the past 4 years.

Sorry for the sideways photo...not sure why it did that.
