Okay, newbie, never taken the camper out, when do you light the hot water heater? When you get to the park, not before, I presume? I'm not blonde, just couldn't find the info

Light it off when you get set up. Air flow could be impeded if you travel when its lit. Also, if you're stopping to fuel up enroute, you don't want a flame source. Hope that helps.

You have a 2017 trailer ..... You should not have to "light" anything. Just make sure the heater tank is full of water and turn it on. If you have full hook up use the electric to keep it warm and then turn on gas when you want to use shower ....... recovery on gas is much faster. Enjoy the modern conveniences, no more sleeping on rocks and running to rest rooms. Travel safely, Hank

Or do as I do and turn them both on when plugged into shore power. That way you don't have to think about it.

Aww, but that eliminates all the drama! Leave in on electric. Then you can go in for the nice, leisurely evening shower and in about 4 minutes start hollering; aiee! aiee! geez! geez!.....honeeeeyyyy!!....

Not meaning to hi-jack here, but along the same lines as the OP asked...what about the Fridge? Do you guys haul with it running on LPG? Any issues or, as stated, safety risks involved with doing so?

No problem. Be aware that there some areas of the country that require the propane to be off to cross bridges/pass through tunnels. I am not aware of any restrictions out here (West) but I think the dam at lake mead Lost Wages (I mean Las Vegas) has RV restrictions.

I have been across the Dam, and taken the "Dam Tour", but I flew to Lost Wages and drove there in a rental car. (paid for with the DW's casino winnings)

I pulled my old Jayco across the dam back in '00. No restrictions then, I remember it being a tight squeeze, extended cab long bed with 36' of fiver.

One is still able to drive across the dam, but will be required to return the same way. The "new" bridge which opened in 2010 is the main way of crossing the gorge now.
