Required Viewing

So.... I was channel surfing yesterday when I ran across a move title that captured my attention - not necessarily due to camping. The title of the movie was "The Long, Long Trailer". I thought it might be related to Star Wars (not sure how I put that together since I'm not a fan), so I tuned in. Come to find out it was a movie with Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball. The basic premise is that they bought a very large camper (in 1956 or so) and were traveling for his job.

What a hoot! It's pretty clear that camping hasn't changed much since the 50s. We especially liked the scene where he is about to back the camper into a driveway for the first time and there's like 20 people telling him how to do it. The look on his face is one to which almost all of us can relate!

If you have the chance, you should see this flick - it's very funny! It should be required viewing for new owners!

Oh, some of the things we do while waiting for camping season (it's 13 degrees outside)!

The Long Long Trailer is really charming. We have a copy of it. I love what Lucy collects along the way, but won't give it away for those who haven't seen it.
