Axle Issue on our 28SGS

We purchased a 2015 Cougar in August 2014. We have traveled around 4,000 miles with it. In December We were heading to Pensacola, FL for New Years, we stopped just south of Montgomery, AL for the night, everything looked good. we stopped for fuel later that day and noticed that on tire was wearing. I called the dealer they told me to call Keystone, they gave me numbers to 2 places in the area of Pensacola to see if they could work on it. No one would work on it Keystone told us to buy a new tire to get us home and they would pay for it and to call the dealer when we got home to get it in. We dropped it off the day after we got back home. 2 days later I get a call from the dealer telling us that they have no idea how we made it back home safely. At some point on our way down we had sheered a bolt. They had to replace an axle, shackles, bolts and 2 tires. It took a month for the repair due to the fact that they had to wait on the axle.

Hi Julie,
Is there any chance you could give any more info on the failure you had.

We have a "13" 28SGS that we are preparing for a 3 week trip, mid May - early June. Would like to check things out before we leave.

Thanks for any information you can provide.

Allan

I had a similar thing happen on my 05 Aljo , couldn't keep tires on it finally found the shackle pins where worn out , replaced all of the parts with grease fitting type , not a cheap project .

Allan, I really don't have much more info other than I am so thankful that my husband checks every tire at every stop. We didn't notice anything different when we were pulling.
