Thanks, I'm not all that prone to worrying about stuff in general but it was always in the back of my mind that I was pushing the limits a might...

Not something I worry about for "ME" but I don't like taking chances with the family and other folks..

If I get hurt or in trouble that's my problem.. But hurtin' or messing up other folks ain't something I do without good reason.

Had it in the "12 F250 and the dealer decided to swap it from my old truck to the new one.. I just shook my head and said... whatever as long as it don't cost me nothing..

I agree 100%, In my case when I brought 2010 F-250, 6 weeks later order 2011 High Country. Wasn't til about a year later I weigh rig, and you can imagine I felt like big DA.

There was no way I could take big hit like that after a year. Considering we are weekend campers, only travel about 70-80 miles per trip(4-6 trip per season) 1-2 week trips.
decided to wait a few years to up grade again. By the way kissed a lot backside with DW to get 350 this year.

It is my understanding that max payload changes +/- when measured against the weight of the vehicle. If this is correct, I have a remaining payload of 1360 to bring me to the 10,000 GVWR. My dry pin weight is 1530 and probably higher when the 5er is loaded.

MAX payload doesn't change, what does is AVAILABLE payload based on weight. If you only have a driver the available payload will be higher than a driver and a passenger. That's why the sticker on the drivers door has a defined weight.

So what was your experience with the new 6.7L diesel???? I could not have been happier, the 6.7 was flawless for the 3 years that I drove it. And I have no reason to believe that the new 6.7 will be any different.

The D-max is a great motor as well, I stuck with Ford for a couple of reasons. I like the 6.7 and I don't like the interior of the Chevy.

I will ask, WHY? If it took a year before weighing the TV and trailer it must have towed just fine with no concerns.

This next statement is NOT a recommendation just my current situation. I pull an 11,000# 5er with a Ram 2500, yes over the GVWR, No bags, No Timbren's, Just stock Camper Package. I am well under axle ratings, and way way under tire ratings. I will continue to tow with as currently replacing the TV isn't in the plan. I will say drives like a dream.

To this I will add, 250/2500 only exist to meet a registration need in many states. They have for the most part the same running gear as the 350/3500's, maybe softer springs.

While being a couple hundred pounds over GVWR, the wheels will not fall off of a 250/2500 compared to a 350/3500, you may be in a legal limbo if involved in an accident.

I drove my brothers truck (Chevy 2500HD Diesel) last year when mine got totaled, and it was a beast hauling my Laredo and I loved the allison tranny.

You payed less than 40K for a 2015 Ford Dually diesel or was that the price minus your trade??

Well you got a hell of a deal, because I just pocked around for a F-350 and they are asking way too much (80+k) for some but I could not find anything lower than 52K

Congrat's again

Just traded my 2011 F250 for a 2015 F350 DRW. It was fairly priced at rodeo time in Houston. There out there but you have to work at it. Watch dealer stock in the larger markets. Find something they have had in inventory for over 100+ days. It's beginning to cost them to keep in stock.

Yeah, but I think you're comparing two different trucks. You can get them $11,000-$12,000 off sticker price fairly easy but there's a big difference in the starting prices depending on the base level and options. But, it does show you that a brand new dually can be bought at a reasonable price. They can definitely get real expensive very quick but I think no matter the starting price they can all be bought with about the same incentives.

Anyone bought a new Ford Superduty less than $11,000-$12,000 off sticker price? I bought my F450 $11,000 off the sticker price and got $34,000 for my 2011 F250 Lariat with 73,000 miles, tires about 75%-80% worn. I was pretty happy with my trade in value.

Javi, congratulations on your new truck. I'm sure you'll love it and so far I'm thrilled with mine. Sounds like you got a great price.

Javi gave me the link too that dealership, and they have a 2015 F-350 CCDRW 4X4 6.7L XLT diesel for $47K, I bet if I went too my local dealer starting price is probably high 60K or even low 70K for the same trim truck.

Part of the issue with trading a truck in is they try and get you on one end or the other, or both, which is why I negotiated my trade in price first. Part of the problem around Houston is they can sell the Super Duty trucks and move them pretty quick I think. I tried to get a friend that sold an almost new motor home and is going with a new 5th wheel to not even consider the F250. Now I think he's realizing the limitations of the F250 and 5th wheels, especially toy haulers.

I see a lot of women here driving dually's and pulling horse trailers, not uncommon at all.

Javi, you pulled your 5th wheel yet with the dually? I've only pulled mine once and there were a couple of times I caught myself going too fast on the really smooth roads. Love the braking though, big difference and the exhaust brake works very well also.

Nope, gonna put about a thousand miles or so on it first.. I will say that after driving it about 400 miles this past Saturday... the '15 is a good head above the '12 as far as power, ride and shifting goes.. Even the DW announced after a few miles... This thing is smooth.. Is the motor bigger..??? Sure seems like there is a lot more power
