Wiring Schematic - keystone Montana 3400RL

Does anyone know where I might get a wiring schematic for the Keystone Montana 3400RL?

I am having electrical issues and having a schematic will help me to troubleshoot things. One problem we're having is a 900 watt microwave does not seem to be working up to par. It does not trip the breaker but it does not seem to be cooking things as fast as it did before we moved from a house into the RV. it is on a 15amp circuit. By my calculations, based on 900 watts, it should only be pulling about 7.5 amps.

Keystone does not supply any kind of schematics - electrical or plumbing - for any of their units. Several members have asked for them but they are not available.

You should have received an owner's manual for your appliances - including the microwave. There may be a wiring diagram of the microwave in the manual.

Try unplugging the microwave from the RV's electrical circuit and use a heavy duty extension cord and plug it into your house. If you are using the A/C or other appliances at the same time as the microwave, that will probably trip the 15 amp circuit.

Are you using the same or a different microwave than you used in your house? If it is a different microwave, it may not be as fast as the other one.

Wiring diagrams are an "extinct dinosaur" in the RV industry. No Keystone product has a wiring diagram available to either dealerships or customers. It's just the nature of the beast. Very few RV manufacturers provide that information on current models. Gone are the days of being able to find a schematic for an RV.

Do a search for "Wiring Diagram" on the forum search feature (in the top blue bar) and you'll find numerous discussions about the lack of wiring information. Here's one to get you started: http://www.keystonerv.org/forums/sho...wiring+diagram

Just to ease your frustration: we have a class c jamboree in our service department right now. Tweakers got into the coach and cut pretty much every wire, every 2-3 feet.

Copper Theives

Yep Chuckster they will get you every time. Worse than mice. For 50 cents of copper they will cause thousands of dollars in damage. And guess what? If you catch them they don't have a dime to pay you back, so there is no restitution!! I hate them. They have been tearing up a transport company up here stripping all of the trailer wire front to back.

Need to bate them with a HIGH voltage line!!

Most M/w used in our Houses are on separate 20 amp ckts now. You might have to upgrade wiring or check it for 12awg. Sounds like a voltage drop problem which can occur with smaller gauge wiring like 14awg.

Irv,

You do realize that this is a 3 year old thread? The OP was asking for help in 2015. The last time he signed onto the forum was 01-27-2015 at 03:00 PM. You can almost bet that he'll never see your response.
