Hideout 230LHS Appliance queries

hi all,

So, what I am struggling to find out is what make/model the fridge, oven, water heater, furnace, aircon is.
Other crucial into also needed, is the furnace, oven, propane or elec, or both?

If anyone can shed light on these questions, it would be appreciated, as I cant find the specifics online.


I take delivery of my new 230LHS when it arrives to the port, but have to make modifications here in New Zealand to comply.

You should receive a document with the trailer paperwork called a "build sheet". This document will list all the appliances in the trailer by make and model.

Unfortunately, there is some variability in the models of appliances that the manufacturer installs in each unit. That's why you can't find the information on line. I don't believe that Keystone keeps that information on file either. Enjoy your new Hideout. Making modifications is at least half the fun of owning one of these.

Carl - (carlos/jackal????)
I can't help you with model numbers but can give you the brand names of some of the more commonly found appliances found in Keystone RVs:

1) stove/oven - either Wedgewood/Atwood or Magic Chef - both on propane only.
2) fridge - Dometic or Norcold ---- on propane or electricity 120V AC
3) furnace - Suburban or Atwood --- propane only/12v DC fan/motor
4) A/C - Dometic/Coleman/Carrier ---120V AC electricity only
5) Water heater --- probably Suburban or Atwood --- propane or 120V AC or both.

There are too many model numbers out there so unless someone who has the identical or very similar RV chimes in with more specifics - this is the best I can do for you.

110VAC appliances wont work in New Zealand unfortunately.
Just preparing to what extent my 'changes' will be.

Gotcha! I noticed the New Zealand a few minutes after I asked what you were preparing for.

Only issues I see are the A/C, the electric side of the hot water heater and fridge. Water heater works on LP as does the fridge, so if you can stand the heat, you can stay in the kitchen

It might be possible to change the heater element if we can find imperial connections etc..
As for the fridge. This may have to live with a step down transformer if there is room inside near the compressor thingy. Any use of transformer has to lay within the confines of the appliance.
Same as above with Aircon...though I suspect less likely to have room for the transformer in that.

Fridge doesn't have a compressor. The cooling unit uses heat from either a flame or a heating element. Depending on how big the transformer is, it might fit in the lower access panel.

As for the A/C, again depending on the size, it might fit in the return duct, above the filter.

Carl has posted some specifics in the new member thread that might help those with knowledge help him out. I tried to the best of my ability but there are many more better qualified than I to try to help.
