Jenson Radio
I have a 2020 Passport 2521 and the volume knob on the Jenson radio quit working. Is this a warranty claim or just replace it?

I would replace it with another brand, most likely a major upgrade from the present One.

Any suggestions on a brand that'll fit the opening?

I have no idea, but I’m sure some members have done it and will chime in.

Thanks. I just found the issue today and we leave in 2 weeks. Hopefully we can find a replacement by then.

From the picture it looks like a double DIN size radio. Does the remote still control the volume? I would give ASA Electronics (the mfg of Jensen) a call and ask about warranty and if you look at the radio and get the model number you can get the dimensions from their website atasaelectronics.com/support/

Your radio looks like the one in this link;
https://www.amazon.com/Jensen-JWM41-...NsaWNrPXRydWU=
The above is a JWM41; they also make the JWM40 that looks just like it. I believe the Jensen warranty will be 1 year at most but contact ASA to be sure.
The unit is a double DIN but you need to pull it to see what the cutout looks like to make sure whatever you buy will fit into it without doing some cabinet mods. Hopefully the cutout is for a full double DIN and whatever you buy should have no problem going in. My last unit was double DIN but the cutout behind it was for a single DIN unit so you need to know what that hole looks like.
As far as brands there aren't a lot of RV specific radio/receivers. IMO steer away from the Furrion brand - Jensen would be better. Once you get the receiver working replacing the speakers may be the best mod for sound improvement.
Edit: Crutchfield would be a good source for a replacement.

That looks just like it. I will have to check the model number. Amazon wants $157.00 and Best Buy Double Din replacement is a Sony for $299.99. I will pull it out to make sure if the opening before I buy anything. Not sure if I would go back with the same radio or not. This was the year for Speaker upgrades and then this happened.

JMHO, but in my years of being a tech, Jensen radios don’t have a stellar track record.

LOL. That is what I have found from reading some forums. I just don't want to reinvent the wheel to replace it...

It is a double DIN opening. I wouldn’t go crazy on an expensive replacement since the speakers are garbage. My factory Jensen had a warranty issue just over 2 years old and Jensen (ASA Electronics) replaced it at no cost. But I had to pull the unit and send it to them snd they sent me back a new one. Process took about 10 days total. While i was waiting, I replaced the speakers with a set of Kenwoods and it all sounds pretty decent for what little we use it for. Cruthfield is a good mobile audio website if you were so inclined.

The only issue I have found with a car double din replacement is they don't use zones for the sound. There are times where we like listening to music outside. However I don't want the outside speaker working when we are not outside ( don't want to bother our neighbors).

Keep in mind that if you change brands, you may also need to change plugs on the wiring harness. That may be something you're comfortable doing or ti ma be something you simply can't manage....
Not intending to "rain on your parade" but if you're not comfortable rewiring the trailer harness, you might want to "bite the bullet" and stick with the same radio......

Looks like you have a Passport as well and I'm assuming you've pulled the unit to see the cutout. The problem with assuming he has a double DIN cutout is that with different model and years of trailers the safest route is to pull the unit and see vs guessing which might present an issue when installation time arrives. Different models of receivers have different configurations for the electronics in back. Even if they have a double DIN front the back could have the electronics placed so they can fit in a single DIN cutout either on the top or bottom...or both.
And you're right, the last trailer I had with a Jensen I kept the head and put in Kenwood speakers in all locations and it made a very big difference - plenty for an RV (just the 2 inside zones, I won't use the outside speakers).
