Visible Mobile "party plan"

Was looking at Visible Mobile due the unlimited hotspot data. $40 a month unless you do a "party plan". Their site implies you can do party plan as a single customer. $25 using the "party plan" option. Their site doesn't explain what party plan means in this context. Anyone know how to explain party plan? TIA

It looks like it’s a family plan for strangers or friends….a family plan like my wife and kids have is one bill and everyone has to pay their own share to who ever the bill is made out to ( or not pay)
This party plan is like in military boot camp where if one person screws up then everyone gets penalized kinda deal…you are billed individually but if one person out of the four doesn’t pay then the other three have to pay an extra $5 a month..if two people don’t pay your bill goes up $10..the discount is for up to $15 a month as long as all four pay each month…it makes the other three members the “bill collectors” …you have a vested interest in making sure the others pay on time.

You can join a anonymous group if you don’t know anyone interested in a visible plan but would like to join yourself.

Seems like a way for the company to make sure they have a better chance of collecting payments every month

UPDATE!

Was all set to switch to Visible. I wanted to take advantage of their UNLIMITED data for when we camped so I could stream without watching my data limit. Found that Consumer Cellular offers unlimited data for just a shade more than Visible so I stayed with CC. I also bought a new phone as my old one only has 32 gigs of storage and I am always fighting to keep it under. It also has begun to act wonky at times and needing to be rebooted a couple times a day.

We've been using Visible successfully for over a year (and 3 months now) now with a ZTE phone and an attached miniature wifi router so we can connect to more than one device. In keeping with the spirit of the law, the router is the "one" device connected to the phone. Everything else is connected to the router, multiples, all at the same time. Works truly unlimited and works very well. $40 a month and use it full time. Never had any throttling, failures, or dead zones (except a small pocket at a really remote private campground in Lower Michigan one week-end).

We have our Samsung cell phones with an unlimited data plan that we use for back-up, as my wife is still working permanently remotely and we are on the road way too much. Even when home, we still use the Visible for the camper, even though our house has a totally different internet system.

We don't share our plan with anyone and don't mind the $40 a month. It is very reliable and works very well for us. But, I've learned a long time ago that if you invite anyone to your home, you can expect to get screwed over. So we don't share ours with no one, for any reason.

For future reference, the Party Plan allows four or more users to have unlimited and unthrottled* data for $25.00 per month per line. If one of the four lines is closed, the rates for the other three go back up.
This has spawned Face Book Party Plans because there is no maximum number of lines in a party. So if you have 75 people in your party, the likelyhood of 72 of them quitting is rather low.
Members of the party plan get their own bill with no contact between them and no information shared between them. If you are a member of a party plan, all you know is if your party has four or more members.

*There are times when certain towers experience high volume traffic. At these times data speed may temporarily suffer.

I very nearly signed up for Visible for my camper's router but learned that some people have reported spotty performance when using the Visible sim in their WIFI router. I've got the WiFiRanger Osprey and last I checked only AT&T is certified to work with that router.

My wife and I signed up for it last summer. We only pay $25 a month each. The party thing is kind of dumb we just used a random group that had a lot of people in it. Sure beats the 60+ bucks we were paying for Verizon and have had coverage everywhere we have gone and should since they were spun off from Verizon.
