Just Added 2nd Coleman Mach 15 to Rear

I just bought my camper and knew from the one I had traded in would like to add a 2nd AC. Now I do not prefer Coleman or Dometic as I have had both and as long as they cool I am good.

I just purchased a 2021 Keystone Cougar 29RKD with 1 AC and pre-wired for the 2nd. The front A/C is Coleman and the rear they want you to add Dometic??

That would drive me crazy seeing 2 different types of units on the roof. So I went to searching read this forum and others across the internet.

I purchased the following

48204-666 Colman Mach 15 Rvpartscountry.com (824.00)
410098 Deluxe Chill Grill ducted Assembly - Coleman RVpartscountry.com (80.49) matches front Unit
Airxcel 9430-5501 RV-C Netzone Gateway ebay (94.99)
9430A751 9-Series Zone Control Box RVupgrades.com (163.39)

total 1162.87

I disconnected the battery and unplugged the power. removed the roof top vent and caulk.

I did see on a youtube video where a gentleman used externabond tape when he removed the fan and added an AC. This gave the AC seal a nice smooth surface to adhere to. I used the 6" externabond tape and it made it real easy to adjust the ac from inside.

I also took the front ceiling assembly out to reference the rear unit. Don't forget on the Zone control box make sure when you open up to do the AC you move the jumper to zone two.

The temperature sensors in both rooms was already ran. Mine where yellow and black wires.

I know its late in the year but we just installed and when powered back on the In-Command instantly recognized the rear AC and it works.

This maybe old hat information I just wanted to pass it along. I have matching units front to rear and everything is working with the in-command

I have 2020 keystone cougar 29bhs. I had a tech in Las Vegas install the 2nd ac (front) and wire it into the InCommand system (with the provided instructions here). Both the original ac (rear) and addition work.
However, the new ac thermostat readings are always between 52-56 degrees (the rear is reading correct at 75 degrees). So I am unable to run the front ac because the set point can't be lower than 55 and its reading 52.

Anyone know how to correct the thermostat reading or reset?
Any thoughts or suggestions.

sounds like it’s the wrong thermister installed behind the little wall cover for the front ac ..but someone may chime in…the thermister isn’t by chance installed in the evaporator coil by mistake is it?..not likely but who knows

I looked at the wiring and all seems OK. I put a hair dryer to the temp sensor and it then read up to 100 degrees. Removed the heat and it went back to 55 degrees. The actual temp inside the rv is 71. Think it could be a faulty sensor?

Hello,

This is a. Amazing tutorial. Exactly what I needed for my Cougar 30BHS. A couple of questions , one I want to get the Coleman Mach air conditioner because it’s the same as the one I have now I don’t want to brands for aesthetics purposes I’m assuming this would work the same?

You keep seeing this posted their pictures but I have scoured it and cannot find any is it because I’m looking at it from my phone? Do you have a place you could send me these pictures if I sent you a message with my email?

Who are you addressing the questions to? The OP started the thread 4 1/2 years ago and his last post was 3 1/2 years ago. If it's another post please clarify.
