2014 Passport 2200 molding/weatherstrip loose

Hello,
We have a molding or weatherstrip that’s loose located on the left side up by the rain gutter spot. Not sure how it goes back ? Looks like it has hardened some. Would you use a heat gun to make soft ? What kind of adhesive should you use or maybe it just fits back in the channel ? Haven’t had a real good look see up close. Any ideas ?
Thanks, Charlie

That stuff will fight you if it is old. Get some new and cut a section to length and install where the old stuff was. Keep in mind it comes in various widths. I have installed it and there must be a trick as even the new stuff was a chore for me to seat in that channel. Make sure all the screws under the old are covered with sealant.

You can get the inserts on Amazon - an example;

There are many types of sealants for use on an RV. I would caution against using silicone. I like ProFlex - it comes in colors;
