Washing RV off sight

If like me, your HOA does not allow you to keep your RV at your home and getting it home for a day or so to clean is not possible you need some way of cleaning the trailer. Their is a water outlet at our storage sight but really hard and wet work to cart buckets back and fourth and too far to run a hose.

Car Washer Pump High Pressure System Kit DC 12V 70W Household Car Washing Machine; System Kit 12V 70W Car Washing Machine from Walmart. Have been able to wash roof and all sides of trailer, loaded tubs with water in our truck and plug in washer pump to cigarette lighter. Shoots a long stream of water at about 125 psi that cleans well, long brush and some soap and trailer is clean for another season. $61.28.

I watch a video on YouTube of a guy that wasted and waxed his motor home at a campground, without water.
He used some kit with aircraft grade wash and wax, but it was expensive.

Pressure Washing

One thing you should keep in mind is that the outside of the RV's are typically covered in mold and mildew and you do not want to use high pressure that could possibly damage the RV. It's better to use a softwashing method that uses soaps, bleach and water the cleans gently similar to how they clean roofs and siding. We clean RV's with a similar process here in Connecticut. The nice thing about using this softwashing process is you can use a pump up sprayer to apply the cleaners and just rinse off with a regular garden hose if you don't have access to a great water supply. Also the low pressure protects the RV from potential damage from pressure.

If you want to see what I'm talking about check out this website: https:www.AmericanSafeWash.com.

I have, in the past, attached a garden hose to the outside shower on the camper. turned on the fresh water tank on-board water pump, and washed the trailer that way. It works very well, actually. I would never use a pressure washer anywhere on my camper.

A foam gun works pretty well to shoot foamy soap on the RV. I also use a pressure washer with a low pressure foam cannon tip. After soaping, and allowing to sit 5-10 minutes, either use a soft brush or pad to clean. I usually use the "blue brush" on a long handle from WalMart. I occasionally use the pressure washer to wash, being very careful about where I use high pressure.
Be thinking about what soap you're using. Dawn and bleach will strip any wax off the RV.

That Chem Guys foam cannon for $90 sure looks an awful lot like the Amazon one I bought for $18. Might be a better quality, might not ???? My $18 one puts 1" of foam on the Slingshot in about 30 seconds and 1" thick foam on the truck in about a minute or so.

But yes, automotive wash/wax solution is hands down better than Dawn on the FILON siding. I haven't tried the foam cannon on the roof of the trailer. I'm not sure I want to be up there with that much "slippery foam on everything"...
